Without our amazing volunteers, the Millvale Library would not exist today!
Be sure to check out the library calendar for events tagged [Volunteer] to get involved on our community days of service and other volunteer opportunities.
Do you have marketing/communications skills or do you want to try something new? Do you want to get more involved with the library? If you answered yes to one or both of those questions, consider joining the Millvale Library's marketing committee! The committee will meet once a month and will work to help promote the library's events and improve their communications, both online and in the "real world". If you are interested in joining, please email board member Ryan Coon at [email protected]
If you would like to volunteer in a capacity not listed above, or would like to be made aware of volunteer activities as they come up (yard work, book sales, special events), please email [email protected] with the subject line "Interested in Volunteering" and specify your interests in the body of the email.
The Millvale Library is committed to financial sustainability because we believe that we provide important services to the community that should not be compromised, regardless of outside funding. We maintain our facility and basic functions through the revenue we generate by renting the two apartments above the library and the non-profit space neighboring the library.
Our other initiatives, such as programming, special events, facility improvements, and staffing increases, are all made possible by library funders and donors like you! We appreciate all individual donations, and use them to ensure that we are providing the best possible services to our patrons and our community. We are always accepting monetary donations by cash or check, in person or via mail. Checks can be made out to the Millvale Library. We also have a Donate button in the footer of our website. Click on it to give through PayPal!
We occaisionally accept other donations, depending on our needs at the time.
We are not accepting book donations at this time.
Every year, the Millvale Library Board holds eight (8) community meetings that are open to the public. Come and meet the library board and staff and contribute your ideas and opinions to the conversations that shape the library's path.
The library board meets the first Thursday of every month from 7-9pm, and in 2015 the open meetings will be in February, March, May, June, September, November, and December.
If you would like to be on the meeting's agenda, please email Board Secretary Dominique Dove at [email protected]
